Workforce Development

Neepawa’s economy is supported by a diverse mix of industries that together create a strong and balanced employment base. Manufacturing serves as a major economic anchor, complemented by a thriving retail sector and a network of health‑care and community services. Education, construction, and hospitality further strengthen the local landscape, while agriculture and natural resources continue to reflect the area’s longstanding rural roots. This broad industry mix supports steady growth and helps create a thriving environment for businesses, workers, and families alike.

Immigrate or Stay in Neepawa

Neepawa is part of the Southwestern Manitoba Immigration Initiative (SWMII), a regional strategic initiative of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Skilled foreign workers or foreign business investors who intend to settle in Neepawa and receive an SWMII endorsement gain an additional 500 points on their MPNP application. This significantly increases their likelihood of being selected in draws and helps fast‑track the nomination and permanent residency process.

Local businesses facing labour shortages can also benefit from this initiative. By applying for designation, employers become eligible to access a wider pool of skilled workers from around the world or to support existing employees transition from temporary residency to permanent residency.

While Neepawa does not oversee SWMII directly, we are here to guide you toward the right resources and help make your move as smooth as possible. Start your journey here:
